Atlanta is just boring

That is a major reason the game will stay in Atlanta. It is identical in its being boring to any other city in the south, dallas and houston included, while New Orleans is more exciting than any other. The demographic that goes to the game likes boring....they do not want the kind of excitement that comes with spending any time in New Orleans...very few people in New Orleans like that kind of excitement. Atlanta is a serious city for serious folks...just like Dallas, Houston and Charlotte. The only places with facilities for a big event would be New Orleans, Nashville and Miami. New Orleans is dive bar compared to Atlanta, Nashville is a small honky tonk in comparison and Miami is a beach dive bar. All have their proper place but only Atlanta, Dallas, Houston and Charlotte are real cities with appeal to a broader demographic and only Atlanta and Charlotte are near the center of the SEC with Charlotte being in ACC country...like it not Atlanta is the epicenter of the CFB world...for many reasons.

I mean. It doesn’t take long to put up hotels. I’m not so sure that “Nashville hotels are currently expensive” is really a reason. That’s not how markets work.

It will take a LONG time and a pile of money for Nashville to approach the convention handling capacity of Atlanta. Building 3 story motels on an interstate exit is a far cry from building a 20 story high rise in a downtown area. Nashville lodging is more expensive than any major city in the US and it ain't close because Nashville is 50 years behind Atlanta in development of its convention industry. Given the stranglehold Atlanta has on that industry in the region it is not likely Nashville developers are remotely interested in making the market competitive with Atlanta.
