I'll try to explain it:


Arkansas has bases loaded.

Very low liner hit to SS, who catches it, with no immediate signal from umps on if it was a lineout or grounder.

SS throws home and gets the force out at home.

Runner at 2nd tries to take 3rd, but gets tagged out after a great throw by catcher.

After an appeal, we find out that the SS did catch the liner, so that was out 1. The throw home did not mean anything since there was no force. The runner on 3rd did not tag back on 3rd before he ran home, so the throw to third was outs 2 and 3.

Announcers are saying because of the appeal, it won't go down as a triple play, but it was still as strange as it comes.

They had to discuss it. 2nd base ump seemed to have no question that SS caught the liner, but he was just delayed on his call, so all the runners assumed it hit the ground.

It's a strange situation because LSU would've been pissed had it not gotten all 3 outs, but Arkansas has a right to be upset because it seemed like a grounder based on his delayed call.

Alabama wins 6-2 over AU.
