A&M for example has a win over LSU late last year that is helping them some imo. He may have team talent built in as a component as well.
There are clearly some faults if you look at just based on this years results, but it’s just a different perspective.
Sagarin carries over data from the previous year for 5 or 6 weeks. I believe he carries the entire year over, so both Miami and A&M start the season penalized for example for finishing 5-7. There is no talent data in his algorithm.
At this point in the season his data is usually off a little but starts to tighten up in the next couple weeks.
