He didn't "determine" there was no forcible contact to the head and neck area. He made a subjective call that he didn't see enough to confirm that it happened. I, and many others, say he was wrong.
Anyone who thinks they could objectively disagree with that is a liar or an idiot, maybe both.

What's your goal here? Do you honestly think you're going to convince Georgia fans, or any fan of the SEC, that your biased, superficial opinion should be elevated above the judgement of the officials who are trained and paid to get calls like this right?
If so, you've utterly failed.
Or...is your goal to drag this pointless debate into 2024 and beyond?

Don’t forget #4, the ESPN ref guy.
What do they have in common?
Access to HI DEF/SLOW MO/MULTIPLE ANGLES replay, no bias to uga (in fact, Steve Shaw hates uga), and a proper understanding of the rules.
You have one ref, who had a terrible view of the play and was simply following the protocols to protect players.

He is a fan of a team in a conference that has two decent teams and really only deserves to have one of these teams in the four team playoff bracket
CBS signed a multi-billion dollar contract with the Big Ten and pushed hard to line up Big Ten representatives in the playoff ranking pecking order. First USC, a newcomer to the Big Ten, took a dump and failed to secure the number 4 spot. Then Ohio State backed in with a super weak schedule and after being stomped by Michigan in Columbus by several touchdowns. Then I watched Ohio State fans moaning about the venue and about it being more like a Georgia home game in spite of the fact that it is a built-in benefit of being a higher ranked team.
So this fan of a team from an over-rated conference doesn't surprise me one bit. Prior to playing Ohio State for only the second time, I wasn't aware of just how insufferable these folks are. Now I know.
