Returning the kick at the end

Anybody think a better route was to fair catch, take it at the 25, get a quick out route / timeout, then throw one deep hoping for a DPI call or reception or use that as the time for a multiple lateral situation? UGA had 2 TOs. Idk. Just curious. Or was running it out the best option?
Edit: with the goal being to hit a long 55-60 yd FG and force OT

Kirby made so many boneheaded decisions and this was one of them
- the fourth down
- not keeping the clock running under a minute
- press man with the single safety shaded away from the 3WR side under 40sec
- running out the kick

Absolutely, the last 6 seconds of that game was one of the dumbest ways to lose. Pure hubris.
