I know that wasn't the exact quote, that was my overview because in the article he said to get rid of the colonel, flag, etc and give me my wins. then later on went to say that ole miss will be a leader in all categories. I just didn't want to quote and type all of that.

Colonel Reb removed from sideline - 2003
2003 = Early 2000's
To be honest, moving away from the Confederate Flag and Dixie has a LOT more to do with it than Colonel Reb. But the Colonel was a part of that.

Yeah but he was around from 2000-2002...which was early 2000s as well. And Dixie is still played, and we still get the black athletes we want and then some.

Colonel Reb and the Flags certainly, but Dixie? I agree that they needed to get rid of it temporarily because of TSWRA, but it needs to come back. FDWL is priceless and has brought a great amount of joy to the majority in attendance (except of course at the end of the game when the opposing team loses). As soon as the high schoolers who went to Ole Miss games have finally left (4-6 years), its time to give it another go, since students know what will happen and they've never had the opportunity to take it for granted.

I don't see it making a return. I think they keep what they have currently.

This is the only arguement that I need to prove that FDWL needs to be back yesterday.
Those retards will be gone in a few years and when they return to games, hopefully they'll be grown up enough not to say it and remember how much of a loss it was when we lost it. Its in the very least worth another shot. They played the beginning of it at the State game, cut it off before the students could say the notorious phrase, went to I saw the light, cut back into Slow Dixie to the point after TSWRA, and cut it off with regular Dixie. It was efficient and got me into the spirit, and it certainly indicates that they are willing to go back to its full use if the fans, most particularly the students, won't say the notorious and stupid phrase.

As I said, they'll still play parts of it, which means they don't want to completely let it go. Wouldn't surprise me if they brought it back for a shite game that wasn't broadcasted just to test and see how it would go.

Gives me chills.
BTW, who was #12 on the team at the time, because he was in the stands chanting TSWRA, and he was black.
ETA, it was Mouzon

There were a lot of black students that chanted it when FDWL was played.

We would have never been in this position if y'all had just enrolled in the a&m department that was created at Ole Miss, but no y'all had to go create a whole new school.
I'm pretty sure Ole Miss dropped Ag, they fealt Ag was beneath them and didn't except the federal land grant institution proposal so MSU was built. It's your own schools fault, don't blame us.haha

That's wishful thinking.

Entirely false. 100% false. The opposite of truth.

Nope, we dropped it because no one would enroll because they hated the Ole Miss students.

Sarcasm? Personally I see no harm in an experiment on non-televised game, like homecoming or playing a D2 school.
