we're arguing starkville now?
And let me get this straight. If the town is bigger and has more shite to do then its a better college town?
So Jackson is a better than Oxford. Atlanta is a better college town than Athens. Milwaukee is a better college town than Madison. And Detroit is a better college town than Ann Arbor. This is your logic

It kind makes sense if you're talking about visiting a college campus. You won't be visiting North Baton Rouge if you're attending an LSU football game, which is the point of this thread.
Just like you wouldn't be going near South Central if you went to a UCLA game in Westwood...which happens to be one of the nicest areas around a campus you'll see. But tailgating sucks there.

All else being equal, yes. Some of us had fun in college.

No, the point of the thread it "Ranking SEC towns", not SEC campus' or tailgating.

all else isnt equal. BR has the worst crime in the SEC. It has the most poverty in the SEC. Athens is better than Oxford because it has more shite to do and all else is equal. But in BR all else isnt equal. Its Louisiana's Jackson, Montgomery, Little Rock, Detroit, etc.

The campus and the tailgating are part of the criteria for how good town is. Ole Miss is the whole reason to go to Oxford. Not so with Baton Rouge, though I admit the luster would be dimmed considerably.

so you agree that since no one else agrees with you and even your fellow LSU fans who lived in BR thinks Oxford is better that it isnt an argument, well then

im sorry but auburn blows.. i have had more fun in starkville and oxford than auburn. Ive actually visited some of these schools during non football season and athens and bama are def up there. Auburn is prob last on my list when there is no tailgating going on.

Bottom line, BR is a better town to be a college student in. If you have to live in Oxford 24/7, or even visit for any length of time, you can only do so much greek stuff, you will get to the point that you puke if someone mentions "Faulkner again, and then there's the wonderful food you can't get anywhere else....oh wait.

You would honestly put BR as the #1 college town in the SEC? No shite?

first off I resent that. I dont understand why people stereotype other people just by who they pull for. I dont assume that youre a toothless coonass just because you have LSU out beside your name. Also this whole " OM is just a bunch of rednecks in disguise" is just bullshite. Rednecks do not come to OM because you have to dress up to fit in. You have to have money to fit in. You've got to be a little snobby to fit in. Why the frick would a redneck choose to go to school where he'd have to do all that? Now sure we have a few, its just going to happen. If there was a school on the moon, they'd have a redneck or two, but just because OM is in MS doesnt mean that we are your typical Mississippians.
Secondly people would've never heard of gainesville, Athens, Madison, or College station if there weren't colleges there. If a college is what makes them famous then its a college town. Kids learn BR when they're studying their capitals in second grade. Its not a college town. Hell its not even a town, its a city

Yeah, that's not a stereotype.

If it has a college in it, it's a college town, plain and simple. It may be known for other things, but far and away BR is known for LSU.
And there are probably..heck I'll say it's 100% certain...that there are people out there that couldn't tell you the capital of Louisiana if you put a gun to their head.

I haven't been to Oxford and just moved to BR so I don't really have a horse in this race, but just pointing this out. Unless there's a Madison I haven't heard of.

Of course its a sterotype. People believe steriotypes. So if youre a snob, you come to OM. If you are a redneck you go to State. Its not complicated.
I dont care if you think BR is a better college town than Oxford. Some people are just different and some cant be objective.
But I do like to educate ignorant people. OM has fewer rednecks than any school in the west because of our stereotype and its a fact.

yeah, kinda like you think BR is better than Oxford, some people are just dumb
