This from another board:

"On this AMP footage interview with Randle after the commitment, he confirms that he would not have signed with LSU if Benton had signed with LSU. But if Benton had signed, they would have enough points to take number 1 recruiting class."

I don't care. Randle is a stud and the #1 player in the state and the nation by some sites. Benton is a great player, but has been out of football for a year. I'll take Randle.

ditto...... I'd rather have a player that will actually make it to the field of play than have a "recruiting title".....

Yep... we both did. You guys might have a rivalry after all before it's over with. Auburn's going to suck dick (like CPA, only he swallows) for a few years. TN too probably. We might have to turn to LSU for a rivalry.

Randle will score many TD's for LSU, he did not cost LSU anything. Great class for LSU, one of the best ever.

Benton will play one year at bama and then try to go Pro. LSU loses nothing here.

Benton = Auburn

But we had a choice between a guy who couldn't qualify after multiple tries or a younger 5-star WR, think we went the right direction

I think we'll get Benton for more than one year, but my predictions usually suck.

Kendell Kelly went to Alabama, and Tana Patrick did as well. I thought Auburn would get Patrick...

Benton was a win for Auburn when you look at all that Auburn has had to deal with this year. They will be good for each other. Benton just did not fit this time for LSU. We gave the kid 2 chances and he could not measure up. Good luck to him next year.

Oh I agree if you can get either RR or Benton you'd have to take RR every time. However, both are absolutely fantastic and I am very happy with Benton and I assume LSU is happy with RR.

Who cares.....we got the better guy both on and off the football field. Benton needed to go ..... he will probably be an academic casualty in a year anyway.

benton signing/not signing would not affect LSU's points.

According to the formula, the third time a kid signs he will not count towards that teams points, unless it is a different team than he signed with previously.

LSU is #1.

#1 per ESPN
#1 per Lemmings

Alabama #1 on Rivals, but everyone knows the Rival's bias and the over-signing of the illiterate by Saban.

3 things:

1. Randle is better
2. Benton is a risk (grades)
3. Benton hasn't played in at least a year
