UT fans I’m hearing Rainey Street is fun. Any particular bars you’d suggest? What age crowd is there on game weekends?
Any other areas besides 6th Street for bars.
Got a big group heading to Austin Thursday all in upper 30’s.
Thanks for the suggestions. Looking forward to visiting Austin

Can’t provide recs on particular bars since it’s been a few years, but Rainey and West 6th is probably best bet for that crowd. If little Woodrow’s is still there I remember enjoying that a good bit.

Are y'all trying to stay around downtown the whole time?

East Side (east of I-35 on 6th street), Upstairs at Caroline's on Congress, West 6th.

Eh, Rainey Street isn't really the go-to place anymore. Like the other guy said, it's all been redeveloped.
I'd cross under I-35 and just walk down East 6th St. That's where you're going to find the (non-ratchet/mature) night life now.
This is the place to check out.
I like The Liberty. I saw some minor Saturday Night Live members there one time.
For reference, I'm 38 so you're in just the right age group.

Don't skip going to Easy Tiger. And get the Live Oak Hefeweizen and Electric Jellyfish when you're out and about. Two great local beers.

Thanks for the suggestions! I really appreciate it.
Can you suggest a good day drinking spot Thursday/Friday with good people watching and ease of walking to other spots that will have a crowd?
Not looking for clubs or college hangouts. Maybe a mix of the rooftop/high end plus a few places with live music and beer. Bar hopping ease. We’re staying at the Omni downtown but can Uber all over if needed.
Very vague I know but appreciate the suggestions. We’re just going to try to take it all in in a weekend.
