Desperate for attention
So very desperate, it’s almost sad

I realize I'm part of the problem, but it's so funny how any thread w/ Texas and Texas A&M posters deteriorates into this. 100% of the time.

Let’s get back to Aggie football. Mississippi State sound good for your “ rivalry “?
They are not my first choice for assignment as a "permanent rival" ('sips, piggy and swamp kittens), but I have no real problem with them. It even makes some sense, from the perspective of League management.
You will note that all three of my preferred choices have a lead over the Aggies in the entire course of the series. Clearly, I am terrified of your cherished "historical records."
Why are you so angry, my little friend?

Been that way since at least 1985 when I first got exposed to rec.sport.football on usenet.
You're not really part of the problem. I would buy you a drink.

As a Longhorn I would rather have the exposure of playing LSU. A&M does nothing for us, they are a charity case.

It just makes the Horns look like a bully. I agree. LSU would be much better. It’s settled then. Rivalry will be Horns vs LSU and Aggie will play Mississippi State. Although that game won’t be a Thanksgiving game for Aggie because of Egg Bowl. Maybe schedule it the week before?

If laughing at you is angry, then yes I’m furious.

Like others, I previously could have cared less after we exited the Big 12. Texas threw a tantrum and discontinued the game. However, being that they are now in SEC, OF COURSE we want them as a perm opponent. I didn't want the game to end in the 1st place.
As for the lopsided historical record folks like to throw around, I don't give a damn about that. In My Lifetime, and I been on this earth 43 years, Texas A&M LEADS the series 17-16.

Your last championship was a 1998 big 12 championship. Is this supposed to be some sort of golden era of Aggie Football?

To be honest I always viewed OU as the traditional rivalry of significance with UT. I never really paid attention to Aggie. I always thought it to be more of a ND vs Navy type game since I thought Aggie was a real military school. The sip thing puzzles me. On the one hand it was explained that the old Aggie was a whiskey drinking, war fighting, rough guy while the Horns sipped tea. Then we are told that the Aggie was outgunned on the football field because girls weren’t admitted during that time. That doesn’t make any sense. If your students were so rugged why did the Horns dominate them?
