If we fail, it will because of something tangible. Expectations and pressure are media creations that make preseason football talk relevant. I don't think there is any pressure on our players and coaches to do anything they wouldn't normally do.

Your post only proves your lack of experience with pressure.

So you're saying you lost 5 games because of pressure and expectations that were created preseason??

The real answer is that your team just wasn't good enough.

Wasn't Saban supposed to beat ULM a few years ago? Was Fulmer supposed to beat Wyoming last year?

Arkansas has never been a consensus SEC title contender during Nutt's tenure, yet he still wins the West twice. I just don't see where he failed under high expectations... they've always seemed modest to me.

I was talking about the '03 Barn team that started the season #1 and got pwned by Leinart and USC in Jordan-Hare in the opener.

As far as LSU goes next year, I'd say 8 or 9 wins is a reasonable guess.

Im doing some research but Arky was picked to win the West a couple times and it was a total fail.

We went 8-5 the year before we won the MNC in 2003. Last year =/= this year.

Why is everybody ranking Penn State so high? I thought they lost almost every playmaker except their QB who i didn't even think was all that.

Schedule. Same reason ole miss is getting all the hype.

All three of these will not finish in the top ten.

Yeah, but the duck cheerleaders are naturally cute enough to make up for the bad unis.

USCw should not be top 5. They lose their entire defense and qb and are ranked #4, give me a break. LSU, Bama, and Ole Miss would all beat USCw this year at a neutral site.

I don't think USC should be that high either... but after UF each team has it's share of flaws, so the natural inclination is to throw high-profile USC up there.
