This is a consensus of On3, CBS, Sports Illustrated, Andy Katz, and Jon Rothstein, so it should spit out a fairly accurate estimate at where these teams will start when the actual preseason polls are released in about 5 months:
1. Houston- 122
2. Purdue- 117
3. Florida- 111
3. St. John’s- 111
5. Duke- 94
6. Michigan- 92
7. Connecticut- 91
8. Kentucky- 84
9. BYU- 81
10. Texas Tech- 80
11. Louisville- 65
12. Auburn- 60
13. Arizona- 54
13. UCLA- 54
15. Tennessee- 51
16. Arkansas- 50
17. Iowa State- 49
18. Alabama- 42
19. Illinois- 38
19. Kansas- 38
21. Gonzaga- 31
22. Oregon- 29
23. Michigan State- 22
24. Wisconsin- 15
25. Creighton- 9
26. Texas- 8
26. San Diego St- 8
28. Baylor- 7
28. Virginia- 6
29. NC State- 2
29. North Carolina- 2
31. Iowa- 1
31. USC- 1
In the next month or so, we should get the SEC vs ACC Challenge matchups announced. Look for the above seven top SEC teams to likely get matched up with Duke, Louisville, North Carolina, NC State, and/or Virginia in some order.
We are probably 8-12 weeks away from the early season tournament schedules/formats being announced…. Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, and Texas A&M will all be playing in the Las Vegas Players Era Tournament, where in total 13 of the above Top 28 teams along with 7 others will all be taking part.

the Las Vegas Players Era Tournament
I honestly can't remember — is that the one where the players/teams get paid actual cash now?

Yes. And I think this will supplant Maui as the premiere early season basketball tournament as a result. It will force Maui and the Battle for Atlantis to rethink their strategy and offer money to the kids in order for them to stay relevant.
