Hell no.
I was against going from 12-14 and am even more against going even more than that.

I do think scheduling would be easier with 16, 4 pods. Just not do sure any of the teams everyone wants , has a legitimate reason or wants to play in the sec. The path to the playoffs will be much easier where they are. We're only gonna get teams who are not already in the big 5. , but make no mistake all 5 will go to 16. Probably right about the time they say 4 isn't enough we need 8 teams.
Can anyone explain to me why a conference HAS to get to 16 to be a legitimate super conference for the purposes of a 4 of 8 team playoff? Why is this arbitrary number a must? Why can't a 14 or even a 12 team league not be a part of a 4 or 8 team playoff?
It would seem simple enough to have an 8 team playoff with automatic bids for the 5 BCS conferences (assuming they're ranked in say the Top 12 of the final poll) along with the 3 highest ranked teams that didn't win their conference. If a champion of one of the Big 5 conferences doesn't finish in the top 12 that spot goes to either the 4th highest ranked team that didn't win their conference or a non AQ conference team that is one of the 4 highest ranked non AQ conference winners. Why wouldn't such a system work just as well as the grand 4 sixteen team conference format everyone seems hellbent on getting to for no good logical reason?
"4 pods is a terrible idea."
Totally agree and I can't believe it has so much support. You literally blow up a cohesive divisional format that has worked well for years in getting 2 teams to a championship game for no other reason that to get to 16 teams which someone somewhere determined was the magic number all conferences had to get to.
