So few mean all? As I said he wasn't loved by all. There are people in media that will turn on him. There are people in NWA that can't stand him or arrogance. I have no issue with way he runs the program, but there are that do.

I've said time and time again. "This? This, is the subject where Arkansas media decides to start actually doing investigative media work? The flubs that wind up in the Arkansas markets are the underbelly of the snake that is journalism. There's a reason media types in the Ozarks stay their entire career there. They simply aren't good enough and too lazy to cut it in other more competitive markets."
put that shite on my gravestone.

Because BP booted them all out if the BAC when he was hired and they are extremely bitter that they actually have to work now and routinely get called out by the fanbase for lack of or misinformation.

Speaking of the rally. I kinda wish they would change the pic. He looks like satan with all that red and flames.

He is "loved" for one simple reason - his record. If his record was average, this would all be a non-issue and he'd be gone. The fans would "love" anyone who ran a winning program there. Their "love" has nothing to do with Petrino personally, his character, his non-athletic contributions to the community, etc. It's nothing but his record. I understand Arkansas fans not wanting to lose his coaching ability. But I can't imagine any but the most delusional of them defending him as a person.
The thing about Petrino is that Arkansas knew what they were getting when they hired him. It's like the frog and the scorpion - he's gonna eventually sting you because it's his nature. If the local media starts digging, I have no doubt they'll find more dirt than this incident during his tenure at Arkansas.

This is true for pretty much all schools I feel like, unless that coach is a POS beyond belief. Michigan has their dumb "Michigan Man" bs and other Big Ten type schools will play that game, but everyone wants a winner.

This isn't an SEC-centric phenomenon.

You know that photo and the evilish graphic is pretty much appropriate.
Like Bama, Auburn, LSU, UT, UF, S. Carolina, Ole Miss, MSU, etc. We've all pretty much made a deal with the devil for our football programs.

The problem is success. Once you get a taste of it, it feels so good, and you think back to how badly it sucks just being a devoted fan.
Success is what makes people go crazy.

I agree, but I guess that's not the case with Missouri. They know they suck dick and don't care to do anything about it.
We aren't and won't ever be a powerhouse but we'll sure as hell try. If BP is back, 11-1 is very possible.

Unless the scandal has taken his mojo. There will be a fundamental shift in his persona. You can't just assume he'll be the same coach post-scandal. It's part of the gamble.

This. Over the past two years I've finally got a taste of what my parents and friends parents talk about from when they were growing up from the 60's to 80's.
There is no part of me that wants to give it up now.

That could very well be the case but he's a cocky sob and I think he would love to stick it (no pun intended) to all of his haters after this shite storm.

I wouldn't be surprised if he did resign. Now, if he did resign, would he owe Arkansas money due to his clause? Not sure of what his contract states.

The only way he will resign is if they give him that way out to avoid a public firing.

Well that's how I see it. That would be Arknasas' way of showing him some type of respect in the whole situation.

When's the presser? I need to have enough time to get the popcorn ready.
