Going to need to see their evidence behind that. Because Mississippi isn't last in education anymore.
They polled 1500 people. They also said that Mississippi had the worst food of any state. Those chefs in North Dakota I'm sure are tearing it up.

You can be stupid and still the best town in the world. 97% of the stupidity comes from Starkville.
All of the stupidity in your state comes from people that believe graphs on the Internet and make stereotypes. All of the stupidity in your state comes from you.

Monetize your concerns. Start a cab company in Oxford.

Seems like everyone lives within a half mile of downtown, there's no money be made in taxi business with short little trips like that, especially with the fights and vomit and whatnot.

There goes the neighborhood. Pretty soon you're gonna do something crazy like allow blacks in your school.
Ole Miss admitted a black student before Texas A&M admitted a woman.
And the minority student ratio at Ole Miss >>>>>>> that at Texas A&M. So shut your fat fricking mouth.

Eh, I probably live one mile from Dickson St. If I know I'm going to get fricked up, I usually cab out and back.
Parking costs $5.00. I can get down and back for $20. I figure I can save the other $15.00 by having a strong top-shelf double at home before hitting the road.
Of course walking there would require me to climb a fricking mountain, so...

How hard did the local bar/restaurant/club lobby fight that?
They didn't at all.
The bundled it with the sunday sales thing, that way retailers and restauranteurs all got what they wanted together. Power in numbers 'n' shite.

Oh wait, didn't you or some other Aggie a-hole try to make that SAME frickING COMMENT about Ole Miss earlier in this thread?

Do the bars still close at midnight? Y'all will be fine.
The parties aren't at the bars.
Well only because the bars close early. Yes, Oxford does house parties well, but we probably wouldn't if we could just stay at the bars.
The lesson here is that people want to get drunk. You can't pass laws to keep this from happening. People will just find ways around it.

Fayetteville is the opposite. A little pregaming at home, and nobody really hits Dickson hard until 10:30 or 11:00.
If you're "after partying" in Fayetteville you're on drugs.

I don't see how anyone could live without bars that stay open to 6 am during the college years

Which is fine and all. I just think it's funny that OM was offering degrees to women DECADES before the board at Texas A&M was like "yeah, okay, women deserve educations too I suppose." I just wanted to call out the guy's hypocrisy.
Oh, and one of the reasons Bear Bryant left Texas A&M was because they refused to integrate, so really for some dipshit from Lufkin to act as if the Lone Star State has some sort of stellar track record of equality in higher education is a goddamn riot.

I figure Oxford would be the same if the bars stayed open later.

6:00 am would have killed me in my college years, but I'm not from south Louisiana.
2:00 am was more than enough with classes.

Wait, so you could buy it cold on every day except Sunday before? Or was it never cold? Did the store owners have to take all of the beer out of the coolers before in order to sell it on Sunday?! I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS
