This is insane. #1 OU lost series against #2-#4 Texas, Oklahoma State, West Virginia but swept every other series. Extremely frustrating to watch every week.

Honestly remarkable. Texas has won 2 more conference series than OU, including head-to-head, but is 4 games back in the standings. The difference: Texas has swept 0 teams, OU has swept 6 teams.

OU lost a lot of head scratchers in mid week games. But Skip uses mid week to warm up his pitchers not to win the games. He has a routine and this gives many pitchers an inning or two throwing a bit less than full strength to keep in pitching shape for the weekend series. And its paid off. He’s a good pitching coach and threw away some games bringing pitchers in when the starter was doing fine - all to pace them for the season.

It’s because Texas sucks at baseball this year. I mean they got whipped by the same A&M team that has lost to the SEC bottom-feeders.

I agree and hopefully we are. I feel like it’s headed in the right direction with recruiting but this season looks to be pretty tough with the schedule. If the OL is able to gel look out. I was really hoping to see Saban roaming the sidelines at Owen Field but very happy to have Alabama coming to town and going to Tuscaloosa next season.
