That's on Nutt. Letting a 170 pound guy run it at the goal line against an SEC front 7 is probably not the most logical way to go about that. And sure enough he fumbled.

Look at what he was working with? If he had SEC talent he would be scary.
His offensive scheme would not work in the SEC. If LSU or Bama decided to go man to man which they do 80% of the time, his QB would get sacked every play because of the wide splits. It flat out would not work.

We'll see. I have a sneaky suspicion that at least a few of the major boosters are in my corner on this.

For those not familiar with Leach, he would never fit in at Ole Miss. I doubt he would even consider them. All that pretentious "Hotty Toddy", meet me in the Grove BS wouldn't fly with Leach. The first thing he would do is burn the Grove down so your damn fans would stay in the stadium. He is quite the anti-social type too, again, BIG determent for OM. He won't go around smoozing with your "big donors", listening to how he needs to run his program.

I'm not a huge Leach fan or anything, but I think we could do a helluva lot worse.
Tech was bottom of the barrel when he got there, and he had 10 winning seasons in a row, averaging like 8 wins per year.
And another thing, the big 12 south was arguably the best division in football during his time there, and he won like 40% of his games against OU and UT his last several years.
He was continuing to get better and better there every year. I think he still has several years in the tank.

I'm pretty sure Malzahn and Holtz would be on the list higher than Leach. Cristobol is up there too.

Gus is All In. Won't happen. Holtz is waiting for Brian Kelly to stroke out. Never heard of that other guy.

To be honest I was right behind the crossbar in the student section when it happened. I couldn't really tell because our replay guy at the stadium wouldn't show it during the review. (go figure) When they announced it was confirmed he fumbled I walked straight back to the grove and left and never watch the highlights to that game so he probably was down. I just haven't seen it since I saw it live.

Does Mullen, a new englander, fit in with cowbells, milkoffs, haybale tosses, etc?

The only camera with a clear shot of it was a B-roll camera. That's how they got that footage for One Heartbeat. It was a camera recording to tape......not one connected to the video board control room.

Their program started in 2002, he is their second coach ever and they went 0-12 the year before he got there. So if you want someone who can turn around a program then he is your guy.
