I thought Ole Miss would try to jump on the in state talent early but it looks like Mullen is winning the in state recruiting battle at this point.

Arguably the two best in the state of Mississippi, Vincent Sanders and Damien Robinson, are leaving the state.

Ole Miss will always have a tougher time than bama or LSU as they have leaky borders, and Johnny Vaught, who was the Rebels greatest coach, make some mistakes that play out still today.

1) He wrote off South Mississippi leaving it to LSU and Bama. This also allowed USM to develop a pretty damn good football program with overlooked south mississippi players like Brett Farve and Sammy Winder.

2) He was late in recruiting AA athletes, Bear was not.

3) He allowed Mississippi State in have too many decent players and eventually develop into a recruiting rival.

Hence, Ole Miss is left with north Mississippi which it has to share with state and fend off UT, LSU and Bama.

It is just a hell of a lot harder than it is for LSU and bama. They have to do more with less. (Kinda like USM)(If you appreciate what USM has done all these years with everbodies rejects and not quite good enough guys you dont really know Southern football.) Maybe should hire Jeff Bowers to help.

That's not set in stone.
I'm sure you'll get one of them, but If we win the SEC west we're gonna take a bunch of guys in-state guys from other teams.
