But is it something that is so bad that changes need to occur? At the U of A, black and white people get along just fine.

No. It is very rarely a huge issue anywhere.
It's not a huge issue at Ole Miss.
The issue is the mindset of people. We make semi-hurtful stereotypes and judgements because we're racist. Acknowledgement of this is the only way that real progress can be made.

I believe that. Black and white folks get along just fine at Ole Miss.
It's about respecting person and judging them on the character of their deeds as opposed to your stereotypical perception. Just because violence doesn't occur doesn't mean that we think of each other as equals. Once color doesn't matter, racism will be dead. Acknowledge your shortcomings and do your best to compensate for them and we're looking at a brighter tommorrow.
