In the same year many of your football players participated in riots on campus that left 2 people dead, much of campus destroyed, and 20 something people in the hospital... yeah, I'd say it is a pretty good story.

They did, frick stick. Cops were at the airport to stop them. There is a PBS documentary about it, and an Ole Miss grad just wrote a book about it. You are so obsessed with hating State it has blinded all rational thought from your head.

Getting on a bus at midnight en route to Chicago, while they defied a direct order from Ross Barnett, who was the most powerful Mississippi governor in history...Yeah, I'd call it "sneaking" out of the state...

You are so butt hurt over this it is amazing.
The motivation to "just play in the tournament" was the grand civil rights gesture... It differentiated us from you then, and it still does to this day.
