I know it wasn't directed at me, but I've found myself leaving almost every chance I get. There's nothing wrong with Gainesville though. I just got spoiled on Oxford.

You still haven't said where you went to school?
This thread isn't about me, and I don't like to brag. Rest assured, it's much better than OM, UF or UPenn State.

This thread has been an interesting read, and one that was fun to keep up with, but it's time I bid you all goodnight.
P.S. Someone send up a smoke signal should RMFTBAMA list his school. I'll look South towards the delta.

Did you not get admitted to the main campus in University Park?
Do you understand that he went to a private Ivy League school that was started by Benjamin Franklin and has nothing to do with Penn State?

The fact that you don't know the difference in Penn St and Penn means you're lying.

Your school is better than Penn? So did you go to Harvard, Yale, Princeton, or Stanford?

Do you like living in Gainesville?
I love UF, but I haven't fallen in love with Gainesville itself. I do get why people like it, so I won't slag it off. There are a lot of good folks here. It just isn't quite my thing.

Costa Brava is overrated IMO, but Santorini was fantastic. Still haven't been to Cinque Terre, though I really want to go. Did you go to all the towns?
I worked in Tuscany for a month in May 11 and in Greece for a month in May 12. Working in Australia this coming May.

No love for Cornell, NYU, or Columbia?

If I could type up an admin and get people banned, I'd have already gotten him banned.
Florida was one of the schools I thought about for grad school when I was looking at them, and I'm always curious about what people think about it who didn't grow up in Florida.

Those are great schools, especially Columbia. I think once you get past the big four I mentioned, the next 10 or so are about even.
Penn has great engineering and Wharton is far and away the best business school, so I put it a cut above. But then, I'm a homer.

I lived in Tuscany for a summer in college. It's where I got my nickname that I used for my username...
I did a semester in France before I lived in Italy.

Point taken.
Had I gone straight to undergrad here, I'd probably love it. I went to Vandy freshmen year, didn't want to work, and ended up transferring to Ole Miss. It's just different down here, not bad different. It's Florida minus the beach.

The university is a lot of fun. At least in my college, the grad school experience has been awesome.
As someone that used to poke fun at UF for being more Jersey than southern, I have found that there is plenty of Deep South still to be found in this area of Florida. Being able to hit the beaches pretty quickly is fun too. However, Florida in general lacks a certain something that keeps me from seeing myself here. I'd say UF is a great place to go to school, but for me, Florida isn't somewhere I'd like to settle down.

Wharton is amazing.
I was in love with NYU in high school. Toured 3 times, got in, and the parents decided I was way too immature to be on my own in NYC. They were right.

Are you originally from Gainesville?

Please stop comparing UPenn State to schools that actually are illustrious.
Also, the top business schools are actually Harvard and Stanford. But thanks for playing.
