Texas will be looking for a coach next year IMO so y'all have the second pick after them.

Stone cold lock of the day. Bring him home to the school that gave him his first job.

Damn that '77 staff was loaded.

quote:

After graduating from Pacific, Carroll's colleague Bob Cope was hired by the University of Arkansas and he convinced Lou Holtz, then the head coach of the Razorbacks, to also hire Carroll.[7] Carroll spent the 1977 season as a graduate assistant working with the secondary under Cope, making $182 a month.[10] During his season with Arkansas, he met his future offensive line coach Pat Ruel, also a graduate assistant, as well as the future head coach of the Razorbacks Houston Nutt, who was a backup quarterback. Arkansas' Defensive Coordinator at the time, Monte Kiffin, would be a mentor to Carroll; Carroll's wife Glena would help babysit Monte's two-year-old son Lane Kiffin, who would later become Carroll's offensive coordinator at USC and then head coach of the Oakland Raiders and Tennessee Volunteers, and the head coach of USC.[10] The Razorbacks won the 1978 Orange Bowl that season.

I just get a sick feeling it's gonna be Malzahn. Not against him for what happened before. Just not sold on him as head coach. If he does well at A state, i would wecome him as our next coach.

Now having said that, I sure would hate to miss out on him and then he goes on to be the next great college coach.

I really, really want to stay pro style. Biggest thing I am going to miss about Petrino was the constant talk about how he was one of the only coaches in college to teach a full pro WR route tree and utilize it in a game.

maybe Long wants to use him as an advisor in finding a new HC? I just can't see him going to the college game for the 1st time since 1978 at 70 years old.

I like Charlie Strong, especially if we can keep Paul P to run the offense. Great recruiter, from Arkansas, history of great defenses.

Charlie Strong is a complete tool. Today he banned all local media (but not national media) from having any access to his program because he is mad the local media spent too much time covering Louisville's Final 4 run and not enough time covering spring practice. I'm not shitting you. What an egotistical prick. Think that would go well in Arkansas if Anderson made it to the Final 4?

Well to be fair BP had pretty much banned the media from all things Hogs. Of course look where that got him once they smelled blood in the water.

This is most likely the case if he is indeed in Fayetteville.

Strong went 7-6 both seasons at Louisville.

Also to be fair to Strong as well, he is right. I tried to read up on Louisville football the other night because I wanted to see how Teddy Bridgewater was doing in practice and there are virtually no articles out there at all on the team. The only things you can really find are little snippets from the Louisville athletic website. It actually is kind of understandable.

So it is the local newspaper's fault that Louisville fans care a lot more about getting to the Final 4 and playing Kentucky in a semifinal game than spring practice for a 7-6 football team? He is being really childish.

1. Look at the teams record before he got there.

2. Look at how young most of the players are.

The years before he arrived they went 5-7 and 4-8. Sorry that they haven't won a national championship yet.

What is more, this Louisville team was extremely competitive against every opponent they faced this past year, beat West Virginia in Morgantown, and on average, lost all their games by a touchdown or less. No one was going to blow this team out.

Let me add this to the Charlie Strong debate.

According to Rivals 2011 rankings, Strong out recruited every other team in his conference AND out was only 4 spots from a Top 25 finish and 5 spots from Arkansas...
