Human nature isn't peaceful. So let's ban all guns or make it harder to get them: the criminals would stop getting them as well, correct? Let us all look at Chiraq (Chicago for the ones on the left that refuse to see what is happening in a city that has all the laws you want) to see how that pans out.

Prolly wrong board for this strand, but as a guy who leans left, I think gun control policy divides the working class, like racial and other cultural issues, and allows the people who really control American life to laugh all the way to the bank. Tired of that argument. Why do people kill each other? The root of that problem is much deeper than access to firearms. It starts with a crass culture that doesn’t respect the sanctity of life, or really the sanctity of anything at all.
