Auburn has plenty of space. Did not hear any complaints over the past two decades of hosting regional tourneys… in regard to USC, it’s common place for football teams, even the home team, to stay out of the city prior to a game. Don’t be obtuse.

Too common place. To play at Auburn, one has to commute in from Jupiter, it seems. USC wasn't pleased about flying 2200 miles, checking into their hotels, and the next morning the day of the game they were bussed into Auburn 108 miles away, played the game and immediately had to bus 108 miles back to Atlanta and having to fly 2200 miles back to Los Angeles -- all on the same day!

If I remember correctly, that USCw team stayed in Montgomery, 45 minutes from Auburn. If not, that was 19 years ago. You have a good memory.

Not anymore. They stay in Opelika now at the Grand National Golf resort. The visiting football team now stays at the Renaissance in Montgomery.

They did NOT stay in Montgomery. They stayed at the Renaissance Hotel @Hartsfield Int'l Airport. I know. I stayed there, too, and went to the game and flew back with the team on the charter.
I do have a good memory. You have an Auburn memory.
Do you remember the Trojans absolutely demolishing your #6-ranked Tigers on your home field to the tune of 23-0?

Oregon and Oregon State are basically in twin cities, been to both and dont remember them being nore than a half hour apart.
They are both in nice towns and i would think they would have holdiay inn expresses or hamptons.

I'm purposely being a bit caustic as I do sometimes (especially with a rival), but that's all. Forgive me.
It's difficult sometimes to ascertain the "mood" one writes in on the board, but my mood is nearly always light-hearted. Again, pardon my sarcasm. I'm going to get away from it as much as I can here on the board.
I do wish Auburn well, along with all the SEC teams, in the CWS (being serious!). :)
