It has been for a LONG time, they don't need alumi just the Catholics. Their fan base is huge due to faith (nothing wrong with faith.) They bring in tv sets.

Yeah I’m not buying it. Their few alumni in the northeast have always overstated their importance and popularity. Catholicism has been losing followers for decades and I doubt that Catholics remaining have any real loyalty to some small college in a crap town in northern Indiana.

should have lost to both Kentucky and State

My man. Tell me how much you know about football. Sheesh.

So did you actually watch those games? Kentucky was closer and mainly boneheaded coaching decisions by Stoops killed them but you were literally down 17 to State late in the game and it took some crazy shite for you to pull that off. You won both and that's great and all but with any level of competence from your opponents at the end and you lose both of them.

Please keep smelling your farts though and restart the Arch for Heisman campaign though.

good analysis, Pitt and GT example perfectly solidify why ND being ranked where they are is BS. Those 2 teams have to actually play conference opponents and cant sneak in playing Navy and other bs service academies.

Navy was undefeated and in the Playoff hunt until losing last weekend. Are they great? No, but they are at least decent.

They beat the crap out of NC State by 29 who is the only team to beat UVA or GT.

They obliterated Arkansas in their house by 43.

Rest of their schedule:
Beat Purdue by 26
Beat Boise by 21
Beat USC by 10
Beat Boston College by 15

It's not that they are just beating those teams they are destroying them and some of those are some pretty good football teams. Are they a murderers row? No, but I would say their schedule has been tougher than most non SEC teams.

If ND was playing OU or Texas on a neutral field who are you picking? You could certainly argue OU or Texas but it's far from a sure thing. ND has to win out to have a shot but if they do they are likely in at this point. ND hasn't played any FCS teams and played 2 G5s, both of which are good G5's.

There are much bigger travesties than ND being on the edge of the Playoff.
