Bowl record is overstated as a measure of conference strength.

This. What about the games we're not supposed to win. Like Tennessee, Kentucky? We bring the fans so we get games like that. We've got ten teams in a bowl game, and they're all playing top teams from other conferences. Therefore a 5-5 record would really be a good thing but sports analysts won't look at it that way, because it's their chance to give credit to someone else.

6-4 with a fourth straight national title ain't too shabby either.

Tennessee was playing a better team, ranked #11. Florida and Ole Miss had impressive wins. Auburn and Arky are just lucky their opponents had horrible kickers, especially Arky. Georgia looked good. LSU and Penn State played a tough contest that Penn State pulled out at the end. What happened to S. Car? They were the biggest disappointment IMO.
