Wait, because someone shot his horse he's a bad guy? Nolan lives in the country on a ranch east of Fayetteville. Who knows who shot his horse? That happened over a decade ago. Sometimes shite like that just happens when you live in the sticks, whether it be a disgruntled "fan" or just some redneck kids or drunk teenagers being stupid.

I will agree that Notes is trash.

I think you have a different agenda.

Someone shot one of his horses but that does not reflect negatively on Nolan. I believe it was around 20 years ago or so. What's the point?

I think it was one horse and one shot, a .22. Probably some juvenile delinquent or someone may have just been target practicing and the horse was hit by a stray bullet. Nolan tried to make it a racial issue which it wasn't.

I like Nolan and was a big supporter of his, especially in the early years, when things weren't going so well and the Eddie Sutton crowd hammered Nolan relentlessly. However, when things started going bad Nolan frequently brought up the race card to deflect the teams’ shortcomings but that was years after he and Frank had their disagreements.

There was some very bad blood between Nolan and Broyles and it all started when Frank suggested to Nolan after the 1st year that he should consult with Bobby Knight to better learn X’s and O’s or something like that. WTF? Nolan was very offended by that, as well he should, and never forgave Broyles for that. Nolan and the basketball program was held to a higher standard by Broyles than Nutt and his arse Clown Posse were and that was a very sore subject for Nolan. Was it raciest by Frank? Perhaps or it may have just been Frank was a Football guy first and BB played second fiddle regardless of how successful they were.

In the end Nolan caused most of his only problems by not having very good teams and the worse things got the more he played the race card. When he made a public statement something to the effect and I paraphrase, if they don’t like it pay me my money today and I’ll be gone tomorrow, he had to go. That was the “straw that broke the camel’s back” and Nolan had to be fired making public statements like that.

The thing that really pissed me off about Nolan was that he tried to paint the U of A and Fayetteville in a bad light but apparently it wasn’t that bad because he decided to retire there. Colleges knew that Nolan was a box of dynamite just waiting to explode and that is why he was never hired to coach at the college level again. It had nothing to do with his coaching ability but his mouth.

You can go frick yourself, SLC.

I've never seen someone more wrong about something that is staring them in the face.

The only reason Nolan slowed down is b/c the NCAA launched a witch-hunt on him, and declared half his team ineligibe. Only to apologize later and actually let Sunday Adebeyou transfer back to Arkansas (ever hear of that happening?).

You forget that Nolan's recruiting had picked back up. He was again in on huge prospects. Barely missed on Emeka Okafor, signed Andre Iquodala, etc.

And Nolan was right about Nutt. He saw him for the idiot he was, and couldn't understand why he, a national championship caliber coach, was making less than a guy three years removed from Murray State.

And he was right.

So again, frick you, SLC.
