Same. I was just thinking about this earlier.
There are no programs anymore. Cfb is just about shopping the portal and crossing your fingers that the players you collected this year are the best ones. It randomizes everything. That's how Texas Tech and Indiana are powerhouses all the sudden.
This is bullshite.

Feels like teams just rearrange the chairs on the deck. Player A leaves and you go buy a similar player from another team. The rich stay rich and the poor stay poor and the middle fights to stay out of the bottom but will never get to the top. Exception is probably T Tech. And for now Indiana…but we will
See if this lasts.

I just read a post from the Ohio State board. They are seeing the same thing Texas is. The high caliber recruits from last year that did not make meaningful contributions this year are not going to get a raise.

At the same time, those guys not delivering means going to the portal to find someone who can. We had some guys start in the bowl game for the 1st time and play well, and they want similar money to the guys heading to the NFL.

Georgia, LSU, Alabama, Ohio State, etc. have all had high valued starters enter the portal. Texas hasn't lost a starter to the portal yet. PL only started because the transfer WR in front of him was hurt at the beginning of the year. He knew Texas was looking for 2 proven WR and he bailed.

Backfilling through the portal has been disappointing so far. Texas has not been "outbid" by anybody yet. We did not get 4 of the top 5 targets because those players ended up staying with their original teams. Coleman is the 5th.

As is always the case, there are a lot of chucklefricks on the boards, many more now that the season is over.
