For real - not herpes I (cold sores) but herpes II (genital)? I guess I could see it since wrestling has a lot of body contact or if the jocks weren't being cleaned enough and recycled via team laundy but it seems strange.
Just looked it up: Herpes Gladiatorum - different kind altogether. It's caused by Herpes I (same thing that causes cold sores) but has different effects but not genital herpes.

No, once you declare for the draft you give up your amateur status I believe. It isn't like the MLB draft.

Ok, what are the reasons for this, besided JJ(UT's Jeffcoat) getting his leg amputated?
-he showed up drunk to pro day or in a predraft meeting
-the pectoral thing is much, much worse than ever published, like cancer worse
-the stench of mack brown is so awful to 31 GM's they won't even touch his kids

They should change that rule, imo. It's great that a lot of universities in the SEC offer free college for former athletes who choose to return after going pro but most can't afford to do that and it's certainly not a rule. If a kid has a year of eligibility left and doesn't get drafted or even a FA offer they should be able to petition for reinstatement. Put restrictions on it but let them waiver/apply for another year under certain circumstances.
