That has the potential to be a really good get for State. You never can tell how a coach will do when they move up from a mid-major to a big school but she certainly has the background to do well.

Staley is coaching as well as anyone in the country right now, you could do a lot worse than having her as a mentor. If COVID hadn't hit I'd be willing to bet that USC would be hanging another national title banner.

I still feel like Johnnie should have got the job. She's halfway responsible for State being relevant because of her good recruiting skills & the fact that she was assistant coach. She applied for the head coach position, but they didn't even have her as a finalist smh. Hope she gets an offer somewhere else. Not mad at the new head coach though.

Uh she's essienatially the baseball equivalent of Lemonis. HC experience at a meh school who was a long time assistant for a highly respected coach.
