I guess you missed where the NCAA ruled them ineligible while conducting an investigation and then made them pay it back after it was discovered they received benefits they shouldn't have. Also, asking for $180K is a little different than a fishing trip with someone that was supposedly known by one of the players for awhile.

So what you've said in this thread is, Cam's dad asking for an improper benefit should've stripped his amateur status making him ineligible at any NCAA institute ( your words)

But actually receiving improper benefits like Julio and Mark Ingram, should'nt make you permantly ineligible.

Gotcha

The hard, fast SEC rule you guys love so much makes the player permanently ineligible in the SEC. FWIW

I honestly don't know what this "hard, fast SEC rule" is. And I believe all players mentioned ruled ineligible by their respective institutions, not the SEC or the NCAA if that means anything.

Not sure why we are even discussing this though. Like so many have said it doesn't really matter right now. So much speculation about whether anything is ever going to happen with it or not. So Auburn got it's first national championship since its inception over a century ago? That's not that impressive at all considering their extensive history with paying players and breaking NCAA regulations.

Ohio State and Auburn on the other hand gamed the system and spit into the face of the NCAA and said frick you and your protocol. Both programs have seemingly been rewarded for their arrogance. This is the fricked up bizarro world the putrid cesspool of digusting corruption the NCAA operates in nowdays. Nothing that evil organization does suprises me anymore.

Dude cry me a fricking river.
