My point about the politics of this is that NOTHING he does will ever be consider anything other than horrible and in bad faith to people who hate his guts so much that they are willing to blatantly lie about things to paint him in the worst possible light.

I didn't agree with Obama on much of anything but I called out the stupid absurd BS from his haters saying he was secretly a Muslim terrorist sympathizer undermining our country.

I can accept that, but Trump in this particular instance failed the country. Just in the last 3 weeks he, himself, has referred to the Corono Virus as a "hoax" and in the last week has suggested a miracle would happen and it would go away. He defunded the Obama group in the Homeland Security tasked with prepping for a Pandemic because he seems to simply desire to stop Obama ideas whether its goo or bad, right or wrong.

That's poor leadership and IMO it is because of his narcism. He can't focus on anything but himself. Global crisis' are hard to handle and historically POTUS' have paid negative penalties in those times. Trump is driven by that knowledge. His struggling favorability ratings are propped up by the economy and he should be politically worried about how a Pandemic negatively affects the economy, unfortunately for all Americans he still is talking about giving "aspirin to an economy with Flu" when he speaks about stimulus. The best thing for the economy is to take the necessary steps to slow the Pandemic, the economy will benefit from the stability.

I will give him credit...he seemed uncomfortable last night and he also misspoke apparently on 3 issues...but he did acknowledge this isn't a hoax and serious steps will need to be taken to deal with it. Hopefully, the portion of this country that tends to believe his version of truth will hear that over his past comments.

Whoever chose to put Pence in charge of the public face of this for the administration deserves a bonus. IMO. If that was Trump, so be it.

Apparently Americans are supposed to believe a dude that's been a liar and thief, among many other things throughout his lifetime, is the opposite of that. Give him the benefit of the doubt, they said. He's such a good man, they said.

No offense to you personally but this is exactly the kind of parroted out of context misinformation I'm talking about. Trump did NOT call the virus itself a hoax. He was referring to the media freak out and politicization of it a hoax.

If he did in fact say a miracle would happen and it would go away then yes that would be silly and irresponsible.

As for defunding the Obama group responsible for handling pandemics I'd have to research that. There was an AP fact check that debunked the lie that his budget slashed CDC funding and that cuts to a grant program to help local governments fight pandemics predated his administration so no offense but I'm skeptical of that too.

I guess what I'm getting at is that if people are going to pounce on every "lie" or disinformation passed on by Trump which they should we should also hold the media to the same standard. The media tells just as many lies about Trump as they say he tells so it's hard to know exactly what the facts are.
