early on it was about wins, then it turned into strength of schedule, then at the end it evolved into making championship games.

looking back they should have just not ranked anyone till the conf championship games were set. Then reranked after they were over...then sprinkled in a few good teams that didn't make it.

big 4 conf winners get 1-4, losers get 4-8, then 4 next best teams
