The whole point is, I don't know 1 Arkansas fan that thinks we are better than LSU or Texas. You are exaggerating.

Are we proud and hopeful? Sure.

When Arkansas Ruled College Football.

This was a popular item among Hog fans. I was there when it was being sold, and I laughed out loud.

The SWC was a very good conference.
 No. In 1964, half the conference had losing overall records. The only time that has happened ever in the BCS era to a BCS conference was last year, when the Pac-10 had 5 teams with losing records.

In 1965, half the conference had .500 records or lower. The only time that has ever happened in the BCS era to a BCS conference was last year, when the Pac-10 had 5 teams with losing records.

In 1968, half the conference had losing records. The only time that has ever happened in the BCS era to a BCS conference was last year, when the Pac-10 had 5 teams with losing records.

In 1975, half the conference had losing records. The only time that has ever happened in the BCS era to a BCS conference was last year, when the Pac-10 had 5 teams with losing records.

In 1979, 4/9 of the conference had losing records. The only time that has ever happened in the BCS era to a BCS conference was last year, when the Pac-10 had 5 teams with losing records.

In 1988, half the conference had losing records (and one team wasn't even allowed to field a team). The only time that has ever happened in the BCS era to a BCS conference was last year, when the Pac-10 had 5 teams with losing records.

In 1989, 5/9 of the conference had losing records. This has never happened to a BCS conference in the BCS era.

I picked those years because those are the most recent years that Arkansas won a conference title. Basically, what I'm saying is that when Arkansas wins a conference title, it's because they're in the fricking Sun Belt.

The SWC was hardly EVER good after the 1950's.

The actual point is LSU has a better football program than Arkansas and we are not on the decline.

You do realize that both LSU and Arkansas played football for about 60 years prior to the 1960's, right?

Okay then, from the 60's to the 90's, then.

I really think that anything pre-WW2 is completely irrelevant. Hell, if it was me, I'd start at the 70's (and we even won a NC in the 60's).

any a-hole can pick and choose certain dates to include or exclude to make his argument, that's why I like to look at the whole thing.

God, you are dumb.

You do realize that expanding the schedule to 12 games completely skews those stats, right?

Add in two auto-wins every to the SWC schools and see how it looks.

It is funny to see pseudo-intellects try to argue.

That is a stupid comment. If it was me I would start with 2003 and we have won 2 NC's. See how easy that is to pick any date you want to start. Look at the big picture dipshit

In the 60's, the SWC had a team in the top 10 in every season but 1967, with 3 different schools accounting for 14 top ten finishes in 10 years (Arkansas - 7, texass - 6, SMU - 1). Three national championships were won by the conference (Arkansas - 1964, texass - 1963, texass - 1969). In the 70's, the SWC had a team in the top 10 every season but 1971 and 1974, with 5 different schools accounting for 14 top ten finishes in 10 years (texass - 5, Houston - 4, Arkansas - 3, texass tech - 1, texass A&M - 1). In the first half of the 80's, before violations and investigations castrated the league, the SWC had a team in the top ten every year but 1980, with 4 different schools accounting for 7 top ten finishes in 6 years (SMU - 3, texass - 2, Arkansas - 1, texass A&M - 1).

The champion of the SWC would play in the Cotton Bowl each year. The winner of the Cotton Bowl would be named national champion by at least one organization 10 times from 1960-1979. The Cotton Bowl, the home of the SWC Champion, was unquestionably one of the premier bowl games in America during it's heydey. [/quote]

You're right, picking the 40 most recent years excepting the current decade is really mixing and matching the years, huh?

Then let me rephrase:

Arkansas was arguably the better cumulative program for 4 fricking decades, until LSU hired Nick Saban.

Better?
