A&M will never be a great job. Texas and Oklahoma will always get the best talent out of Texas. Playing in the sec west doesn't help either.
Plus LSU will be exposed throughout Texas, and that's not good for A&M.

We all know A & M fricking sucks

If they aren't clued in on it by now you never will be.

These dipshits come to the west thinking they are going to win anything, meanwhile the Gumps and Corndogs are going to be laughing all the way to the bank with the exposure to Texas recruits.

maybe for offseason...a better thread wouldve been "A&M will go from 7th in the Big 12 to 6th in SEC..Is the SEC that bad?"

I dont think Florida is number 1 I'd put them number 3 behind Alabama and LSU. aTm isnt nearly as high as the OP has either.

I honestly don't think Alabama is a great coaching job right now. If this were a world where Saban hadn't coached Bama to two NCs then sure it is a good job. However, imagine being the NEXT guy at Alabama. That just spells doom.

Right now I agree that Florida is number one because the next guy after their 2 NC winning coach has already been selected. A proven coach could put them right back on top in a heartbeat.

Same goes with LSU (even though many fans wanted his head after the month of January).

Good point. The only thing keeping these kids from playing for Alabama and LSU was the ability to have a game in Texas once every other year for a grand total of two games.

That argument makes about as much sense as the idiots in DC who thought handgun ban was all that stood between them and getting shot on the subway. Yeah, really worried about the weapons charge, but I give zero fricks about murder.

1-Bama - They fricking own the MNC. No reasonable person would question that program as the ballz-deep best. It may, however, work as a disadvantage because of expectations. Nonetheless, coaches would donate vital parts of their anatomy to get a shot at Bama.

small gap
2-LSU - Big dog in state. Lots of fan support. Great stadium and atmosphere.
2-Florida - Same as LSU...tied. Not much difference.
small gap
4-Tennessee
4-Auburn
4-Georgia
4-Arky - (don't kid yourselves, Aggies. Arky is a better job right now. We have a lot of work to do to catch up).
medium gap
8-A&M - We certainly have all the pieces in place. Just need some winning to get the program in the top tier.
small gap
9-S Car - It's really a difference of resources for A&M v. USCe. Neither have a stellar winning history.

big gap
10-Ole Miss - Not much history but decent money (especially Mizzou) and fan support (Ole Miss)
10-Miss St
10-Mizzou

Abyss

13-Vandy - Two basketball Schools with no history, money, or fan support compared to the rest of the SEC
13-Kentucky - would fit in well in the ACC or Big East (not that they suck like those other schools. It's a basketball reference).

Wow.
What the heck is your problem? Seriously. I don't mean that in a defensive tone. What's up?
I have no issue with you owning an opinion--we all do.
But I'm curious what is/are the metric(s) for your "We all know" finding?

I don't even know if Arkansas is a top 25 job in the country. So long as you're constantly trying to pull in talent from Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and points surrounding because your talent pool is small, you're not in a great spot.

To the OP
Right now Arkansas. It is already a structural fire program right now. You get to rebuild with your own recruits and make a name for yourself, as being the 3rd best team in the west.

So why is a program that has never been successful in the big 12 going to be in the sec? I'm just asking for the logic.

cause you frickers sold us a bottle of snake oil named "Dennis F. Franchione's Magical Elixir" that kicked my program in the wolfman nards for like a decade. We're only just now coming out of it.
