Isn't the point of recruiting to help, you know, win games?

I love these idiots on the SEC and Recruiting Boards that would rather land a FIVE STAR~ than actually win football games.

This is about the most retared comment I've ever seen.

The best recruits win games in the future. Are you saying you'd rather sacrifice getting all these guys just for winning one game that isn't a title of any sorts?

....because that's what it sounds like.

But no...you're right. I'm looking forward to going 0-12 for the next 4 years and rake in top 15 recruiting classes in the process.

Im hearing they plan to bulk him up an use him like an Antonio Gates- make him a match-up problem for LB's on crossing routes an such in the middle of the field

I think this is the only way he'll be a good player. Could be an NFL tight end. Does Mullen use his TE's?

ok. Well you hold on to those last two Egg Bowl victories as every single team sans Vandy out-talents you for the next 3-5 years. You DO realize that players graduate and that you have to actually replace them, right?

They don't care. Mullen will coach up the 2*'s to be 5th in the west and beat us. That's all they care about.

Did you just bring Vandy into this? Have you not out recruited them the past 50 years? Ok now please STFU. You made Brosephs fricking point.

who cares about "out-talenting" someone if they win more games than you? That's what it's all about.

I'm not even a State guy, but you OM fans have been unbearable lately. OM has ALWAYS out-recruited State. The two State classes that beat the everloving shite out of Ole Miss for the past two seasons were "out-talented" by Ole Miss 3, 4, and 5 years ago.

Where has that gotten OM? Recruiting smack reeks of desperation because you're getting molly whopped on the field.

That is correct. That is why recruiting is very important. What is also important is the next step, which is developing that talent and producing results on the field. That is where Dan Mullen comes in. Say what you will about recruiting, but I'm comfortable as long as he is coaching State.

ok...who else did you beat in the West over the past two years?

I know the answer to that. Now realize that the only team you can name is dominating you in recruiting. You know what usually happens when one team surpasses the other team, right?

ok. But you do realize that certain players have a ceiling that they cannot break, right? And you do realize that better players typically have a higher ceiling, right?

Relying on a recruits to be "coached up" usually ends in disappointment. All you're doing is making excuses and HOPING that Mullen can coach up his shortcomings in recruiting.

You do realize we never claimed to have a good defense this year. It's not special to say you put up a lot of points on us. This is a reason CJ is such a huge prospect. We could solidify our LB's for the next 3 years. Can you imagine 3 good LB's together for 3 years? It's a damn good way to build a defense.
