You are talking to the wrong poster. I haven't harped on MZ and the Big 10.

I've just said (in the past) that it was a mistake to let you guys in.

I'm just speaking in general, and you'll see that it wasn't a mistake...eventually. Aside from the Great Yankee Invasion on SECrant the SEC will still be the measuring stick even with ol' Mizzou on board.

Does this mean we can stop with the "MIZ would rather be in the B1G" bull shite?

I wasn't giving yall shite. It was just a reality that it was close to happening, and that there was definite interest on yalls end.

Me bringing it up was a hypothetical to illustrate that the suddenly southern identity by a few fringe fans would have been a midwestern identity if a different outcome had occured.

My posts are basically directed at people calling them "Yankees"... I know Missouri was a divided state. But the side for the Confederates did a lot of harm, murdered innocent people, ambushed union troops, try to vote in Kansas to make it a slave state, killed people who didn't support slavery, etc. When they say border war that's what they meant. People from northern states like Kansas, Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, etc damn well know people from Missouri aren't "yankees". More like savages.

I can't name any famous people from Missouri that are considered "yankees" or supported "yankees". But I can name the people from Missouri that supported the confederacy and fought for them. Even Missouri's favorite son Harry S Truman's family supported the Confederacy.

quote:

Harry Truman’s mother came from a staunchly Confederate Missouri family. When it became widely known that Truman’s mother refused to sleep in the Lincoln bedroom, leftists put out the story that it was because Lincoln was a Republican, that is, not a New Dealer. The fact was that she despised the leader of the Yankee invaders. Truman himself picked a well-known picture of Lee and Jackson for the entrance lobby of his presidential library.

And this is the most famous and loved Missourian of all time, Harry S Truman!!! Hence the name of Mizzou's mascot.

Missouri continues to celebrate Quantrill and the burning of Lawrence because ku keeps jayhawks as its mascot. Thug pos.

So MO and KS are kind of like Israel and Palestine? There's really no end to the war because no one will relent?

Weird. Even the Hatfields eventually forgave the McCoys.

If they will lose the jayhawk moniker, I'll quit flying the black Q when our teams meet.

Chalk you up to the simpletons that think being southern is totally contingent on a war that took place 150 years ago.

The southern identity has been defined more since then than before then.

LOL Get the frick out of here. How do you bandwagon on two schools?

Yeah, I've seen that douchebag post on here before too.

It's so funny. A gal I know from ks is always hyping up LSU football, saying things like "we're gonna win the NC this year" then come to find out she roots for kansas in basketball! Typical dumbass kansans.

But seriously, we all know Missourians are from the Midwest. And for the record, at Faurot Field the menu says 'soda' and not 'pop' or 'coke'.

Mizzou fans aren't fooling me, they're playing nice right now. The Arkansas vs Mizzou rivalry will get personal, ugly real quick. Add in Mike Anderson jumping ship. It'll be interesting up there in CoMO when the HOGS travel up there for basketball.

Isn't that what you want in the SEC?? Hate for the other team and Love for yours???

Yeah here's one of those lovely shirts the nice classy Mizzou fans wore to the KU game at Arrowhead. Some sick people...

LINK /

quote:

Those t-shirts seen above that some Missouri fans are making for the showdown at Arrowhead in two weeks are celebrating the Lawrence Massacre and in fact have Quantrill's visage and slogan emblazoned on the back - "Raise the Black Flag and Ride Hard Boys. Our Cause is Just and Our Enemies Many". Talk about going straight past normal levels of fan behavior and making a hard right turn into loony land, that might be the single most offensive gameday t-shirt I've ever seen. Kansas fans are now responding with t-shirts sporting noted violent Kansas abolitionist John Brown (who led a massacre of his own and the 1859 Harper's Ferry raid that really kicked off the Civil War powder keg) with the slogan "Keeping America Safe From Missouri Since 1854" - a mock-up of those t-shirts can be seen here.

Funny you don't bring up the reason the Jayhawks wear red sock when they play Missouri.

You're that jackass from the KC Star comments section (the one with never-ending verbal diarrhea). Well, yes--if anyone comes to our place to steal, rape our women & children before killing them and burning our homes down, your town may end up a little crispy. Typical beaker--latching on to a real football team since you can't produce one yourselves.

Ok, this shite has to stop. Mizzou bumps its chest about burning Lawrence down. Yes, we all know this. But God knows yalls fans wouldn't bring up support of slavery if you were celebrating a Big Ten invite instead of an SEC one. The funny thing is that it matters less to us than the fact the state of Missouri calls Coke "pop" or some shite.

Settle down Nancy--you're giving Bayou2003 wood since his trolling is proving to be successful. He's a lame beaker fan & lives to insult Mizzou any chance he gets. SoCalMIZ didn't pick up on his intent with his initial post & then it went south.
