lol - If I were still in one of my English classes at MU, I could spend time writing up an interpretation on the song.
However, in this scenario it is quite simple:
1) It’s a fun song to sing
2) F#%$ KU fits in nicely after the chorus.

No I really don't believe I need to justify Mr Brightside to you. Some traditions are born for good reason, some grew organically and some for really no reason at all. Some traditions have lived for a long long time and some have died by the wayside.
