I like Steele and all, but he is not as athletic as everyone else on the floor when we play a good team. He is small and all he can really do is shoot. He makes up for a lot of it with hustle and just being a hard nosed player, but we have more talented, better players on our team. I hope he doesn't start. He is a perfect bench roll player.

:kige:
Steele is the perfect super sub who can come in and hit a 3 and give us energy off of the bench.

Yes he can shoot and plays hard nosed D. I do think he will be coming off the bench mainly because of his size. He's a SG or 2 guard. If he we're a true PG it would be a different story. He could be fighting for the starting spot at PG and w/ Dee's experience and has more size than Steele, to be able to play the 2. Maybe he can develop his game & eventually give us minutes at the Point.

Steele will never have to play point. We have Dee, Deville, and Brian Bryant this year and have Craig Sword and Josh Gray coming in next year.

I'm saying if he ever wants to be valuable & get PT. Sword is a 2G if I'm not mistaken.
Dee and Bryant will be gone after this season. Steele is not but a Soph.

Sword is a combo guard similar to Dee. We have Deville back next year and commit Josh Gray is a true point. Steele is a shooting guard in the mold of Barry Stewart.

Steele needs to grow about 3 or 4 inches if he's going to be Barry's mold.

I think you have Steele and Smith backwards. Steele is a CLONE of Barry Stewart both are 6'2" 175

No I'm thinking of Steele. I haven't seen D. Smith play, since he's just a true fresh. When he's out there he (Steele) seems short, under 6 ft to me. He's very quick on the D end and hit what 6? 3's against UK last year?

Yes DJ Gardner from Okolona, MS. He struggled in weights and conditioning this summer it was Kind of expected. He has tons of potential but only plated at a 1A school and has a lot of work to do. We have Hood, Smith and the EURO at the 3.
