Him making his commitments completely back off other schools is probably a turn off for prospects.

Mullen just doesnt seem good at closing on recruits.

He's a complete yankee douchebag who can't relate to some of these southern kids. That and several of our recruits parents thought he was a childish prick.

Just sayin <------- that's for you coach.

I agree with you on this.

Dan really needs to call Urban Meyer, and other coaches and get help on how to improve his recruiting, especially closing on big recruits.

If I were to say this on a MSU board they would be calling me a black bear and wanting to string me up by my balls.

State College message boards are so damn entertaining. They make me not feel so bad about some of the half-wits on OM sites.

For example today he wouldn't let a good recruit in Dominique Banks commit due to wanthing to hold off on Nick James, and others.

thats not uncommon Al- all schools do this- but for some reason its bad when Mullen does it.

We simply have to get more aggressive if we want to higher rated recruits- all the other schools are. Hell, Nutts is balls out right now0 he knows if he gets fired at Mississippi he will never get another job anyway- so there is no risk to him being aggressive

Mullen thinks he can win with the guys he signs- time will tell

I really think Mullen needs to hire a young African American as director or recruiting. Someone similar to Frank Wilson at LSU and Trooper Taylor at Auburn.

JMHO.

Or like Garrick McGee.

That's pretty risky not letting a kid with many offers commit, because you're waiting on a academic risk.

This is true. We got fricked over with this last year because we wanted Raven and Whitehead and the two FL DB's we had were asked to decommit. Didnt end up getting any of them.

Tony Hughes is far from a young energetic, African American coach. Heck he has grown kids and a son on the team at State. Just guessing he is around 50 years old.

I dont think he relates to young black kids the same way a hip, cool coach like Trooper, or Wilson do.

ETA: Hughes is 52 I just looked him up.

I know how old Tony is- I know the guy. We damn sure dont need a Troopah around our program- the NCAA is collecting shite on him as we speak.

There's alot more investigating going on besides Cam in the Auburn folder
