As long as Stans has been here & he has been a consistent guy for us for years. I just hate it having to get ugly for him and MSU. If there were a way, I'd like to be able to keep him on board some how... helping in the office, recruiting ect...

I know this is a long shot and a pipe dream, but my dream candidate for the Mississippi State job if it were to come open is Steve Alford who is the head coach at New Mexico, and formerly at Iowa.
Other legit candidates are
Louisiana-Lafayette HC Bob Marlin a Tupelo, MS native and MSU alum
Billy Kennedy from Murray State

1. He was lied to about the facilities
2. He didnt get along with the AD
3. He wasnt getting support from the public
4. He had some recruits that didnt pan out and got in trouble.
5. He got a better offer from a basketball school in New Mexico.
Or do you want the reasons that was publicly given?

Because stupid Iowa fans expected too much from him. He did a great job at Iowa won a lot of games and took multiple teams to the NCAA tournament, but fans wanted more. He got fed up with it and left for New Mexico where he won 30 games last year.
Just look at what Iowa basketball has gone to since he left, they have been in the bottom 3 of the Big-10 every season since he left.
Steve Alford is a class act and GREAT basketball coach.

Im a long time Steve Alford fan, and remember as a kid watching his basketball videos on shooting and ball handling.
I have followed his coaching ever since he was at SMS.

I dont know, I wasnt there. Nor do I care. I know what he is what he does and how he runs his ship. I mean he is an improvement over most guys in the SEC right now.
ETA:
The biggest thing that hurt Alford was when Coach Sam left, he was our X and O guy. Plus he also was the guy who he trusted more than anyone, and it should be that way, trust your parents over anyone concerning basketball and life. Through Coach, I have met and been introed to a lot of guys I never would have been privledged to meet.

No, I don't know the guy. I haven't paid much attention to him since he left Iowa. I just vaguely remember something about he and Knight. He just seemed to have a pissed off look on his face. Maybe it was because I hated the Big 10 & Iowa at the time. Who knows.

The deal with Coach Knight was media creation. It was just two strong willed people who wanted it their way. Alford respects Knight and Coach respects Alford.
