I don't necessarily disagree with these sentiments, but Michigan is a mess right now. A worse situation than following Saban at BAMA. Why subject yourself to all that? So you can live in Ann Arbor? Do people really think Ann Arbor is a quintessential Midwestern American town? It is much more "diverse" than the Midwest Deboer grew up in.
I've lived in the Midwest. I've lived in the South. I've lived on both coasts. Midwesterners and Southerners are the most alike. Mid-Atlantic people are more like Northeasterners and West Coasters and Cajuns are alike in the sense that there's no one else like either of them anywhere in the world.
