I think King completed 18 of his first 19 attempts but he was not really pushing the ball down field. Miami was essentially dumping it off quick to negate the pass rush of Alabama.

He’s not a bad deep ball thrower but it doesn’t seem like his receiving group is going to help him much against good talent. Their 3 big plays on deep throws were two pity DPIs from the refs and a pity non-call of an OPI for a TD. Receivers could not get separation and just started hand fighting and shoving Alabama’s DB.

My guess is that against normal opponents that their receivers will get more separation. Luckily, they avoid Clemson in the regular season. He ought to have a very good season this year.

Miami better watch out though. App State this weekend and Michigan State next weekend…they can’t have a case of the poor-me’s or this season is going to quickly spiral out of control.

Stetson Bennett put up the same numbers against last years Bama team.

With a much better team around him than King has right now.

The touchdown throw he literally dropped in the bucket.

King has a lot of talent. But his OLine didn’t help him at all. Plus Bama’s defense is really good. I’d not be surprised to see Miami play for the ACC title.

Do you guys think that he is one of the better QBs we will face all season?

I think multiple QBs and teams as a whole will be/could be more challenging.

King is a really good talent, but he is tentative, 8 mos out from an ACL repair, carrying some bad weight, and doesn't have the whole team of talent and/or coaching around him that Bama will see with other teams.
