How can the NCAA just change the rules whenever they want?
They didn't. They interpreted the situations individually. Paulus met them. Masoli...not so much.

That's a reach. He wasn't planning on starting game 1 anyway. He was going to play a lot tho and had a chance to win the starting job, however.

Come on man. Y'all were getting a VERY experience QB. A position in which y'all have very little of right now. It's a blow no matter how you'd like to sugar coat it.

We all said this smelled of desperation.
BTW, you Ole Miss fans remind me of UT fans defending Kiffin. You cannot see what a douche this dude is just like they were blind to Kiffin doucheness.

Did he follow the NCAA transfer rules or not?
No, He got kicked off his previouos team. THe exemption is for players in good standing who leave to follow a chosen acedemic career path.
Nobody feals sorry for Ole Miss or Masoli.....or HDM.
If you lay with dogs, don't act surprised when you catch a few fleas.

I love how sage and righteous the NCAA pretends to be whenever they want

See Sid's post above yours. There is a HUGE difference.

Randall Mackey is about like Masoli, but not as stocky. Masoli would run you over, Mackey will run around you. Mackey is good but he'd be alot better if we could've redshirted him this year.
Also he was coming in to run our Wild Rebel formation basically. I was expecting us to lean heavy on the wild rebel this year but you don't really want Mackey to get hurt since he's the only backup.

Nutt gets egg on his face for accepting Masoli
Denied admission
All of the questions could have been avoided if Nutt doesn't accept Masoli in the first place
Masoli ought to try and go to Bama - might get ACCEPTED

You are right, but he followed the fricking rules this time. They should let him in then change the rules. Greg Paulus(sp?) did this same shite at syracuse
With that thinking, you are destined for a lifetime of disappointment where the NCAA is concerned. Their rules are fluid. They follow them when the rules serve them and massage them when they want to make a change. It's how they always operate. It's hard to find a school where the NCAA has not arbitrarily applied some ridiculous standard that ended up messing a kid and a school over. Arkansas points to Jesse Pate and Sunday Adebayo as instances where we did everything right in their recruitment from JUCO and the NCAA forced both of them to transfer. They actually let Adebayo come back from Memphis State with an additional year of eligibility after admitting they were completely in the wrong.

Exactly, it's supposed to be a reward and he tried to jump through the hoop. You guys act like this is a state or federal law that some lawyer can argue the language of.
WRONG .... NCAA rule and they can say what it means and doesn't. He was kicked off his team, why should he get to play the same year????

Played at Bastrop, LA High School. All-State and, I think, the player of the year in LA his senior season. Won a couple of state championships. Very good JC player. He's much like Masoli, though not as big. Good runner, better passer than Masoli in my opinion. Mackey is going to be very good.
