It doesn't matter Les Miles is going to make both of them quit by 2017.

So Malzahn gets the credit when he nearly wins with a shitty QB but doesn't get the blame when he gets destroyed with one?
LMFAO
the 2009 QB was Division I caliber, but none were on 2011.

I think Malzahn's total record will be 1-3 against Saban before Malzahn leaves for the NFL and/or gets fired.
Malzahn is a lot like Brian Kelly. He won several close games, but collapsed on the biggest stage at the most crucial moment. One year of success does not mean a complete program turnaround, as Notre Dame showed this past year. ND beat Stanford on a flukish play in 2012, but was beaten by them this past year. Similarly most of the close games ND won in 2012 they lost to the same opponent in 2013.
Looking forward to AU's 8-4 season next year.

Chizik won a title. Malzahn lost one. And AU posters suddenly all "had doubts about Chizik" even after the MNC in 2010, but now have "fewer doubts" about Malzahn than they ever did with Chizik.
Does anyone else remember how insufferable AU posters were after 2010? This is worse in some ways.

I think a Malzahn Statue should be placed on every campus in the U.S.

By the end of Miles's career Malzahn will never have won a game. Agree or Disagree?
Right now Malzahn is obviously 0% against Miles, but take a look at what Malzahn did under Chizik.
2009 - Loses to a team with Jordan Jefferson as the QB.
2010 - A victory against Jordan Jefferson, only requiring a once in a generation QB having his Heisman moment to seal the game away.
2011 - No D1 caliber QB on the roster. You can't put too much blame on Malzahn. He didn't have time to recruit a highly rated QB with only a month on the job in 2009. The 2010 QB he recruited ended up being too awesome to stay another season. The 2011 recruited QB ended up being a bust, but he was a true freshman, so it wasn't like he was going to contribute much anyways. Plus, I mean, 2011 LSU was pretty good.
2013 - Loses to LSU with a cornerback at QB.
The future at QB will look great for the rest of Malzahn's tenure. His offense only had one good game against Miles, and that was largely to blame on the QB play.
He's a name brand coach now and big time QBs want to play for him.
He will have some busts, but the QB stable is finally loaded. I don't ever recall a time where Auburn has been this deep at that position.
This means more losses to Miles in the Tiger Bowl.
Sorry I couldn't resist.

2013 was a rebuild year for ND. 2014 is not a rebuild year for Auburn.

Define rebuilding. Do y'all have a first round left tackle hanging out on your roster right now?

I think we only lost 2 starters on offense and 3 on defense not counting Jake Holland of course.

quote:FIFY. I would rather be sitting in Auburn's position that Bama's. We have already seen how bad Bama looked when AJ had a bad game so you can imagine a season without him.
Looking forward to UA's 8-4 season and more rule proposals by Saban next year.

lol did you even know who Greg Robinson was before the year or even have the slightest idea that he would be as good as he was?
Auburn is going to be damn good next year.

Are you sure? Gus has no history of sustaining a program's success. It is different when you are going from being the hunter to being the hunted. I'm not sure that Gus will be able to instill the mental toughness to deal with that pressure week in and week out.
Until proven otherwise, Gus Malzahn = Brian Kelly.

Yes we have 27 first rounders on the roster. 5 of them are OL and 2 are LT's.

Meh, not really. For one, when you have a Heisman runner-up at qb, you tend to base your game plan around him even when he is not having a great game. This was Nuss's biggest weakness. The identity of Bama football isn't the great quarterback so much as it is the power running game. I think Bama got away from its identity. When we have a Greg Mc or JPW type back at quarterback, we will go back to what Bama does best, ground and pound.
