Could change, I guess. But at this point in the season it isn't even close.

Dude...you have a real hard-on for TL... weren’t you recently posting nonsense on the MSB about there being six better college QBs in the upcoming NFL draft?

I think we can all agree that Max has had (marginal) success because Najee has been complete and utter azz cheekz.

Trevor Lawrence is like the White Jameis Winston. Amazing athlete, but not that great of a qb. I'm not convinced he will be that great in the pros.

This is an awful take.

Jameis is an mediocre athlete at best. He and Dewayne Haskins are probably the least athletic black QBs since Byron Leftwich.

Do watch football? Did you just assume he was athletic because he was black?

He ran a 4.97 40 time and was flabby until he recently dropped some pounds. There are 300+ lbs lineman faster than him. He is lumbering and slow footed.

Trevor Lawrence is a way better athlete than Jameis. Jameis is probably a better QB though.

Trevor is overrated because his WRs had a great night against a Bama team that lost 6 DBs from the previous year and their #1 CB had a season ending injury early in the season. He threw some 50/50 balls that his WRs won and he has lived off that ever since.

Since that game he has been remarkably average.

He no longer has those Wrs due to NFL matriculation and injury.

His measurables, athleticism, and arm talent make him a totally different caliber of prospect than Mac Jones.

Mac has much better offensive line and weapons. Oustide of Etienne Clemson skill players are nothing special.

Mac is what Bama needs, but these threads are embarrassing.

While Trevor is overrated and has been average for more than a year now Mac Jones hasn't beaten a team with a pulse outside of Michigan and Michigan having a pulse is debatable.

I didn't realize that a qb's main job was to run. I guess Vanderbilt plays a different format of FB. No I think Winston is athletic because he is. He was drafted by mlb out of high school, he is the second youngest college player to win the heisman by 5 days. These are his NFL records.
I didn't say that Jones was a better qb, but that Lawrence is extremely overrated much like Tua or Winston was.

Most passing touchdowns in a single game by a rookie quarterback: 5 (tied with Ray Buivid, Matthew Stafford, Deshaun Watson, and Daniel Jones)[103]
Most passing touchdowns by a rookie quarterback in one half: 4 (tied with Marcus Mariota and Deshaun Watson) (November 22, 2015 vs. Philadelphia Eagles)[104]
Youngest player to pass for 3,000 yards: (21 years, 342 days) December 13, 2015[105]
Youngest player to pass for 4,000 yards: (21 years, 363 days) January 3, 2016
Second youngest player to pass for 10,000 yards: (23 years, 303 days; 4 days older than Drew Bledsoe) November 5, 2017[67]
Youngest player to pass for 40 touchdowns: (22 years, 312 days) November 13, 2016[106]
Most seasons of passing for 4,000 yards to begin a career – 2 (2015–2016)
Most touchdown passes before 24th birthday: 69 (23 years, 360 days) December 31, 2017[107]
Most consecutive 450+ yards passing games: 2 (2019)[108]
Most interceptions returned for touchdowns in a season – 7 (2019)[109]
First player in NFL history to throw 30-or-more touchdowns and 30 interceptions in a season (2019)[109]

I'm talking about the here and now. Hard to compare Mac's overall numbers with QB's who are throwing 50 times a game. But, Mac threw it 27 times against ATM for 435 yards and 16 yards per attempt.

And he was throwing dimes. Beautiful dimes. And I am far from a Bama fan. But I do appreciate excellence wherever I see it.

Athleticism is speed, quickness, strength, agility, endurance etc. Jameis has shown non of those.

QB is often the least athletic person on the field. Its why athletes like Michael Vick and Lamar Jackson are rare at that position.

Not one person would argue Tom Brady is a great athlete or is athletic, but he also was drafted out of high school to the Montreal Expos. You can be a mediocre or marginal athlete and excel at QB as it is more of a cerebral position as opposed to CB which is a more athletic position.

Tua in no way was ever overrated. He is underrated if anything. He was the most prolific thrower of the football in college football history, but will not be remembered as such because of injuries. He was magic.

You're takes are beyond awful.

No matter what accomplishments you list for Jameis your take of Trevor Lawrence being a comp for him is awful.

Trevor is much faster, quicker and more agile. He moves totally different and has a much longer and leaner body type than Jameis.

I agree Mac has performed better than we all thought he would. Most never saw him starting a game at Bama when he signed. 4 years later he looks like a real player, but he has yet to play a team with a defensive scheme and talent to see what he is really made of.

He will be judged more accurately after the UGA game as the have the players and scheme to match the Bama offensive personnel.

Trevor Lawrence has already made his bones while Mac hasn't yet.

The difference in accomplishments, talent level, and measurables make it a comparison not worth making as of yet.

Let's look at Tua's stats vs top 30 defenses in 2018

• vs. Top 30 Defenses:
58%, 6/6 TD/INT, 7.5 yards/att

• other 11 games:
75%, 37/0 TD/INT, 13.1 yards/att

2018 SEC championship
10-25,
164 YDS,
1 TD, 2 INT

2019 cfp national championshp
22-34,
295 YDS,
2 TD, 2 INT

Keep insulting with ad hom that seems to be the best argument you can come up with.

Who were the top 30 defenses he played in 2018. Those numbers look fake.

Auburn had a top 30 defense in 2018 and he threw 300+ yards with 5tds and no interceptions. He had 2 TDs vs LSU and 1 pick. Thats 7 TDs in just those 2 games so I know those stats are incorrect.

He didn't play well against Clemson, UGA, and Mississippi state. Thats 3 games out of 30+ in his 3 year career. He was hobbled early vs UGA and the game plan was trash vs Clemson.

What is the sample size for your incorrect stats?

Tua played 3 seasons at Alabama you are singling out 3 games.

All time leader in passer efficiency for a career and all time leader for a single season 2019.
