Yeldon did take home mvp of the spring game. Which is pretty good considering our 2nd team defense is better than most first team defenses.

What exactly has Blue and Hilliard done? Score a few points on mop up duty?

A lot more than Yeldon and Hart...

Alfred Blue: 98 rushes, 640 yards, and 8 touchdowns
Kenny Hilliard: 63 rushes, 336 yards, and 8 touchdowns
Spencer Ware: 201 rushes, 882 yards, and 9 touchdowns
Mike Ford: 172 rushes, 1024 yards, and 10 touchdowns

Dee Hart: Nothing
TJ Yeldon: Nothing
Jalston Fowler: 70 rushes, 496 yards, and 5 touchdowns
Eddie Lacy: 151 rushes, 1080 yards, and 13 touchdowns

It really isn't close right now...

This. Exactly why LSU is stacked.

This isn't even close. LSU as of right now. 4 backs that contributed heavily to 2 for Bama. While Bama's rb corp is great and could end up being better, as of now, LSU gets the nod because of proven experience. If ELacy was to go down, Bama would have ONE rb, with playing exp.

ETA: if I knew for a fact that ELacy could stay healthy, I'd say without a doubt , he is the best of the group. A rb could have Barry Sanders ability, but of he isn't on the field, it doesn't matter.

Our top back vs. your top back:
quote:

Eddie Lacy: 151 rushes, 1080 yards, and 13 touchdowns

Mike Ford: 172 rushes, 1024 yards, and 10 touchdowns

Our #2 vs. your #2:
quote:

Jalston Fowler: 70 rushes, 496 yards, and 5 touchdowns

Spencer Ware: 201 rushes, 882 yards, and 9 touchdowns

Our #1 has 20 less carries than yours but has more yards and TDs. Our #2 has 1/3 the number of carries as your #2, but has only 44% less yardage than your #2. And only 44% less TDs.

And meh to your point about Yeldon and Hart having no stats yet. I daresay that Yeldon is much better than your remaining two backs, and Hart could be as good as they are, though a different style of runner. And it goes without saying that our O-line is better than yours, probably the best unit in the country this year.

Are you guys planning to put all four of your backs in the game at the same time?

Yeah one fan suggested running the wishbone with all the backs in, he said they would score 50+ a game.

LSU folks just crack me up about Yeldon and hart having no experience, yet Mettsiah is gonna lead them to the Promised Land of a BCSNC.

They're obviously trying to have it both ways and it's a completely inconsistent point of view to have.

Only LSU fans can have it both ways bro, we're just so damn delusional if we say it.

So much irony in this thread from the same fans that consider mettsiah as an elite QB. He's never started a game or played any meaningful snaps, yet he's better than AJ.

This is an overstatement. Most LSU fans , that know football, don't expect Mett to be elite, just better than what we've had recently. Nothing more. Sure their are idiot Sauk g he will be the top qb, just like you have ALLBAMADOESISWIN saying that Bama's new linebackers will be more talented than the ones whom just went to the NFL.

What new ones? Mosley is just as talented as the ones that left, hell he'll end up being better IMO.

They are, though Lacy and Yeldon are too. Hart is probably the quickest and the fastest of the bunch, and Fowler is likely the strongest.

Fowler IS NOT STRONGER than Michael Ford. Ford is ALMOST on TRich's level, with strength. He is Ungodly strong for a smaller guy. Benches 450 and squats 565 on the reg.

Mosley is a first round type of guy with a good season. I don't know how anyone can dispute this. From what I've been told in our base 34 we're playing him at Sam and we'll move inside when we play with extra DBs. He's better then Hightower in terms of football IQ, agility, and coverage. Hightower is better at stopping the run and rushing the QB.

Upshaw could bullrush, but he'd rarely put some finesse moves on the OTs and get to QBs. Hubbard can do that, and he is better in coverage than Upshaw.

Is Hubbard better right now? No. As the season goes on will he be better? Maybe. I think he can get 10 sacks this season.
