Eh, the SEC was just weak that year.
(sound familiar?)

I understand the hate for Bama and Saban, but sometimes it really gets in the way of any good reasoning. Thanks for that post..nice to hear from someone that can get past the Saban thing.

Saban led a solid, above-average but certainly not great Bama team to an undefeated season due to a very down year for the SEC. He is a fantastic coach no doubt, but Bama's team this year was not as good as the record suggests.

I agree. If I remember correctly, Bama narrowly escaped LSU, UK, Ole Miss, and even had trouble with Tulane. They also benefitted from not playing UF in the regular season. However, winning 12 of 12 is still winning 12 of 12. We couldn't do that last year when we had substantially more talent than everyone we played.

i think that Saban likes LSU more than Bama. His whole family liked BR a lot.

That was a great football team, very talented. I would have loved to see them actually have played to their potential.

Great team, but even a step below our 2006 team. That team was more talented, but got a deserved pass for the road schedule that year. I'm still excited to this day that we won it last year, but losing two games was unacceptable.

That comes back to coaching, and I'll be the first to admit that we aren't the strongest in that category.

Saban and LSU didn't have to face Tebow in that SEC Championship either. Dude is one hell of a football player.

What we witnessed last night was a season of solid Saban football and a unusually weak SEC football schedule for Bama. Unfortunately for Bama fans they can only see a #1 ranking and an SEC Championship game away from playing Oklahoma for the NC. A full strength UF puts another 20 points on Bama. Against OU they are obliterated. Now that "Bama is Back" so too will be LSU, Auburn, Tennessee, Arkansas and Ole Miss. It will be a hole lot tougher for everyone in the SEC West next year. Delusional Bama fans will expect an SEC title and undefeated NC next year. And I think after next year they rotate Florida onto their schedule.

LSU is going to be sooooo good next year. Cant' wait to win the West next year!

At least Bama has some Youtubes to get them over till next year, but still no SEC Championship.

That's really a closet swipe at Miles & a poor defense of Saban.

FOR GOD's SAKE it's BAMA.

It's not like when he came to LSU and turned us around. BAMA fired Shula for lack of results, not because they hadn't won a championship since 1958. Sheesh. Saban had a weak schedule, during a down SECW year, and people act like he did something.

Thank you for drawing all the LSU fans that are still so down in the dumps and dejected from their team this year that dreaming about how lucky Bama was this year and how mediocre Saban is at Bama are the only things that give them solace.
Hopefully you and these other Tigers will stay here and keep away from the threads that make sense.

We had to play Tennessee, that was No. 2 in the country and was going to go to the Rose Bowl to play in the national championship game if they beat us.

Why do people overlook this? How hard is it to win EVERY game? We couldn't do it last year with an incredible team. Saban deserves credit for that.

Sad, but a lot of people will never be able to see it that way. I just don't understand it. Hate really gets in the way of good reasoning sometimes.

A rarity with most fans, much less LSU fans...

Sorry about the loss CC. If it makes you feel any better, I was rooting for a tornado at the Georgia Dome, so I was disappointed too.

It's ok. It hurt, but the best team won. I thought there was a chance, but we just couldn't pull it off. Props to them though and may they win the NC game.
