Legal rulings absolutely supersede conference regulations unless a higher court says otherwise.

Which will happen. The problem is the local idiots get to delay including appeals having to go up thru more locals until Feds can get involved. The Supremes have already signaled that colleges wanting to distinguish themselves from professional leagues is likely a valid market decision, but that wasn’t a decision specifically before them in Alston.

I don’t agree with locals presiding over federal law cases. That was required back in 19th century and maybe the early 20th in some areas, but it is not anymore. I can’t remember if a specific law states that state judges can oversee federal law cases unless the law grants federal courts exclusive jurisdiction or if this just a decree from the Supremes, but any legal reform on college athletics needs to make it the exclusive jurisdiction of federal courts.

Home cooking with judicial decisions on sports that have to work their way up through state appeals first will now become the norm and make a bigger mess than what is already occurring in college sports as the local process ensures nothing overturned until after the season.
