First of all, LSU is not the Miami of the '90's (or was it the '80's?). In a few years, most casual CFB observers will not remember that LSU dominated and destroyed its opponents in 2011, only that LSU seems to win a lot of championships and should be considered one of the elite teams in CFB.
On the other hand, LSU fans will remember (as will most of the die-hard SEC fans) that LSU lost the SEC championship game making the MNC game ring a bit hollow.
LSU stands on the brink of football immortality. There may never be another year for LSU football like 2011 (except for maybe 2012?) Perfection has now become the expectation; at this point, anything less than 14-0 will be a disappointment to about 90% of the Tiger faithful.
